BBN/ GTE Internetworking Headquarters - Burlington, MA

The BBN Courtyard is a completely enclosed outdoor space within a renovated two story office building which is the new home of the BBN/ GTE Corporation. The courtyard MSA designed is a retreat from the intense Internet business.

The Southeast half of the courtyard is the "front yard" of the company headquarters as it faces the reception area and is the first impression as one enters the building. It is hilly and lavishly planted with small tucked away spaces for private conversations and large open pavilions for meetings. In order for business to be conducted outside, the area is supplied with lights, electricity, phone outlets, and computer hook-ups.

The Northwest end is a more open and casual space with patios for dining, hills along the perimeter for sitting, and wide main lawn for volley ball games, parties, and large informal meetings. This is the "backyard" of the company where employees eat, chat, play and relax.
