Hingham Town Hall - Hingham, MA

The Town Hall for Hingham is a converted brick school built in the late 1920's. The town has recognized that the flavor of the old school must be retained within the framwork of the renovation, giving the structure a sense of continuity and history that wouldn't be present with a completely new building. The landscape, too, reflects some of the past. Large trees are planned along wide walkways to recall schoolday memories. An arcade of cherries lead up to a memorial flag space. Seating and small gardens frame the senior citizen entry door and picnic benches are set close to the employee access doors in the rear of the building.
