Ross Way - Quincy, MA

As part of a larger effort to revitalize Quincy Center, we have proposed to close off several blocks of a rear access road that runs parallel to Hancock Street, the main shopping thoroughfare for the City. Presently the narrow roadway serves as access to a public garage and as a vehicular short-cut to by-pass Hancock Street. The new Ross Way will be pedestrian, with vehicular access limited to trolleys and service vehicles. Stores will be encouraged to open on both "sides", to develop facades that take advantage of this new outdoor street park, and to participate in events to promote Ross Way as a destination.
